Do I actually need accounting software as a Swiss freelancer?
Yes — as soon as you're invoicing clients regularly. A simple cash book in Excel is technically allowed under Swiss CO Art. 957 if your revenue is under CHF 500,000, but you'll need a proper tool for the Swiss QR-bill anyway. Once that's in place, you may as well handle bookkeeping and expenses in the same app.

How does AI receipt scanning work?
Snap a photo of any receipt with your iPhone, or forward a PDF by email. Magic Heidi pulls out the date, amount, supplier, currency and VAT automatically. You eyeball it, hit save, and you're done. Foreign currencies are converted to CHF at the SNB daily rate.
Is my data really stored in Switzerland?
Yes. Everything is hosted on Swiss servers in Zurich, encrypted in transit (TLS) and at rest (AES-256). Backups run continuously. You can export your full data as a ZIP archive whenever you want.
What happens if I want to leave later?
